Perceptions which include belief systems and most of my knowledge is and are not tangible. So, my perceptions are always changing, belief systems are always changing and my knowledge is always changing as they are not solid. Everything is noticeably changing moment to moment in every way. As a result I suffer my own perceptions. This does not mean that what I am experiencing is not real to me or my reality in that moment. Even explaining any of these differently does not make it any less real for me. This can be applied to anything.
The change and growth done through karma in which I have no control over and can be a timely lesson in a couple of ways. It may take years for karma to create the setting for the necessary crisis. Also my stubbornness or my willingness to change will be a factor in how quickly I grow or not. In short, I may grow very little within a lifetime if I grow at all. On the other hand I do have the ability to purposely and intently enter the spiritual process which can accelerate my growth process substantially and possibly ultimately within a lifetime.
